Through its diverse programs, KRC Hrastnik serves residents of different generations while also contributing to the cultural and tourism profile of Hrastnik and the wider Zasavje region.
Culture and Events in Hrastnik

These events form part of the institution's broader cultural, recreational, and community program.
KRC Hrastnik also supports the work of local organizations and provides venues for different community activities. Its cultural infrastructure includes Delavski dom Hrastnik, Kulturni dom na Dolu, Muzej Hrastnik, Galerija Hrastnik, and other spaces used for cultural and social programs.
Sport and Recreation
Sport and active leisure represent another major area of KRC Hrastnik's activities. The institution manages sports facilities including Športna dvorana Hrastnik, Športna dvorana Dolanka, Bazen Hrastnik, and other recreational spaces.
The 25-metre indoor swimming pool in Hrastnik is used for recreational swimming as well as swimming schools, courses for babies and toddlers, and other activities. The facility also includes Finnish saunas, providing an additional opportunity for relaxation.
The center's sporting infrastructure supports both organized activities and recreation, allowing different groups within the community to participate in physical activity. By connecting sports facilities with cultural and social programs, KRC Hrastnik contributes to an active lifestyle and quality use of leisure time.
Youth Activities and Community Development
Youth work is another important part of KRC Hrastnik's role. Mladinski center Hrastnik became part of KRC Hrastnik in 2021 and provides a space for young people to meet, develop ideas, participate in workshops and educational activities, and become involved in different projects and events.
The youth center also hosts concerts and social activities, creating opportunities for young people to spend their free time actively and develop their interests. Its activities complement KRC Hrastnik's wider community role by encouraging participation and cooperation between different generations and local organizations.
The institution's facilities also include spaces such as Hočijeva galerija, Sovretova kašča, Mlakarjevo stanovanje, Kompreshaus, and other locations that support cultural, community, and project activities.
Tourism and the Wider Zasavje Region
KRC Hrastnik also works in the field of tourism and manages TIC Hrastnik, the local tourist information point. Through TIC Hrastnik and its tourism-related activities, the institution provides information about the local area and participates in projects connected with tourism.
Its tourism role complements the municipality's cultural and recreational offer. Events, sports activities, cultural venues, and local attractions provide different reasons for visitors to explore the area, while tourist information helps them discover available experiences and points of interest.
KRC Hrastnik is therefore involved in more than organizing individual events. By connecting culture, sport, youth activities, and tourism, it contributes to the wider development and recognition of Hrastnik and the Zasavje region.

KRC Hrastnik brings together a diverse network of facilities, programs, and activities under one institution. From Delavski dom and the municipality's sports halls to the swimming pool, museum, galleries, youth center, and tourist information point, its facilities support many different aspects of local life.
Its combination of established cultural events, sporting opportunities, youth programs, and tourism activities gives residents and visitors numerous ways to participate in Hrastnik's community life. At the same time, cooperation with local associations and organizations helps create a varied program that reflects the interests and initiatives of the local community.
